Tattoo Inspections

The Environmental Health Program performs annual inspection of tattoo facilities in a 10-county area providing regulation and oversight. The following counties are inspected for tattoo compliance: Black Hawk, Benton, Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Delaware, Fayette, Grundy, Poweshiek and Tama. There is a $250 inspection fee.

Regulations in Black Hawk County require a medical doctor sign off on all tattoo parlors in the county. Call the Health Department for more information or to register a complaint 319-291-2413.
