The Housekeeping Department is staffed 15 hours each day 7 days per week. They are responsible for the cleaning of all resident rooms every day as well as all parts of the facility. The housekeeping department has the necessary equipment to clean any furniture or surface in the facility. This is important in order to maintain the clean, attractive, and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors of Country View. In addition to performing routine cleaning of the entire facility, the housekeeping staff will move resident’s personal belongings to other rooms when requested. (I.e.- Nursing or Social Services department requests a different level of care for the resident or special requirements are needed for the resident that another room will provide for them)
The Laundry Department is staffed 16 hours per day 7 days per week. On average the laundry department will process about 2,200 pounds of laundry per day. Approximately ¼ of these pounds is made up of resident’s personal clothing. Everyday, personal clothing is washed, hung on hangers, folded, and returned to the residents’ closets by either laundry or nursing personnel. The laundry department labels the residents personal clothing with their name printed on an “iron on” patch. There is no charge for this service.
The Maintenance Department has staff in the facility from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. There is maintenance staff on-call during off-hours and throughout weekends and holidays. Staff follows a “Preventative Maintenance System” (P.M.S.) program on all of the facilities systems. The maintenance staff can perform most of the facility repairs. This helps ensure the continual comfort to the residents and keeps disturbances to a minimum. The maintenance department will also maintain resident belongings, if possible, without labor charges. Grounds keeping and snow removal is also part of the maintenance staff responsibilities.
The Transportation Department has drivers in the facility 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Transportation operates one large wheelchair accessible bus, two wheelchair accessible Regional Transit (R.T.C.) buses, and two passenger vans. Daily routes are established to transport residents to and from doctor’s offices or hospitals. The transportation department makes Doctor appointments whenever possible to ensure complications with over booking of appointments is kept to a minimum. Transportation is provided during scheduled outings with the Recreation Department and is also provided to transport residents who work off-site.
