The Commission will review any request that the Veteran considers an emergency need.
An application needs to be completed and the interview takes a minimum of one hour. The Director or Service Officer needs to review the budget application and determine the level of benefits for the client. During many of these interviews, a vendor needs to be called and assistance set up. Many of these interviews end with no decision made. More information is needed from the client and another appointment has to be scheduled. When a decision is made, the client is given instructions as to the appeal process. Any decision can be appealed. The appeal from the Service Officer goes to the Executive Director. The appeal from the Executive Director goes to the Commission of Veteran Affairs.
